A motor feeder comprises a set of devices for motor protection and control as well as for protection of the feeder itself. Its 5 basic functions are disconnection, breaking, short-circuit protection, overload protection and switching.

In an industrial environment, motor feeders have a variety of applications, such as the direct manual start of a drill press or the reverse start of an entry gate for cars.

3 Training Scenarios

This AR simulator is the 3D digital and interactive twin of a motor feeder didactic bench. To help the trainees better understand, the motor feeds into a model conveyor allowing them to see the direction the motor is rotating.

The extremely realistic rendering and procedures implemented during the exercises are all based on input from electrical safety experts.

Trainees are able to move freely around this fully functional bench in the safety of their own home or office. They use the camera on their phone to carry out different missions related to the set-up and operation of an electrical motor.

Depending on the exercise, trainees may be alerted in real time of errors, or allowed to make mistakes freely. If they make a wrong decision, the engine will catch fire in front of them, without any actual risk to themselves or others.

The simulator allows trainees to study and control the power on an electric motor in various start-up possibilities.
